The Varuni Handwoven Ikat Cushion Cover is a statement piece that celebrates the precision and elegance of the Double Ikat weave. Each thread is resist-dyed before being handwoven, creating patterns of striking symmetry and depth. The grey base gives it a calm, grounding presence, while the blue and red motifs add vibrancy and movement, much like its namesake, Varuni, goddess of the waters, embodying balance and flow.

Styling Tip: Varuni is perfect as a central cushion on a sofa or bed. Place it against charcoal or cream upholstery to highlight its subtle grey backdrop, or pair it with plain blue and red cushions to echo its tones. In modern settings, use it as a bold accent on minimalist furniture; in eclectic homes, mix it with ikat or block-printed cushions for a rich, layered look. Its handcrafted wooden buttons and tailored piping add finishing touches of artisanal detail.

Gentle hand wash or professional dry clean. Do not Bleach. Do not Shade. Warm Iron on Reverse Side Only.

Every item is made to order with care in small batches. Production, dispatch and shipping and delivery may take up to 3–4 weeks.

Ikat is a centuries-old dyeing and weaving tradition found across India, with Telangana, Odisha, and Gujarat being its strongest roots.
The craft begins long before the loom; the yarn itself is tied and resist-dyed in intricate patterns, a process that demands precision and memory from the artisan.
Only after multiple rounds of tying, dyeing, drying, and re-tying do the threads finally reach the loom, where the pattern slowly reveals itself as the weaver works.
Depending on the complexity, a single Ikat piece can take anywhere from 7 days to over 30 days to complete.
The slight “feathering” of the motifs, a signature of genuine Ikat, is not an imperfection but proof of its handmade soul.
A textile that is both ancient and modern, effortless yet complex, Ikat remains one of India’s most iconic weaves.
