With Sattva & Sage, we set out to build a bridge, one that lets slow craft be seen, felt, and celebrated far beyond where it began. A curated marketplace shaped by craft, culture, and the belief that the things we live with should mean something.

Sattva(सत्त्व), In Sanskrit, translates to purity, harmony, balance, clarity, and consciousness. It reflects a lifestyle followed since ancient times, one rooted in clarity, balance, and an unhurried presence in the world.

Sage is inspired by the ancient Rishis (seers, philosophers, teachers) of India. It represents depth, understanding, and the quiet strength that comes from awareness.

Together, Sattva & Sage became the name for what we wanted to create: a space where tradition feels modern, where craft feels personal, and where every piece carries the calm of intention and the weight of history.

The idea was simple, to bring the India we grew up with, the India of hands, colours, and stories, into a wider world that appreciates thoughtful design.

We noticed a gap, not in culture, but in access.

Across the world, there is a growing longing for pieces with depth, makers with names, and objects that don’t just decorate a space but add soul to it.

Yet so many crafts, artisans, and young founders stayed unseen on the global stage, their work carrying centuries of technique but limited pathways to reach audiences who value such stories.

So we created Sattva & Sage as a pathway to bring meaningful craftsmanship to a wider world, to people who seek texture, tradition, and truth in the things they wear and the homes they create.

The Friendship & The Force Behind

What began as chai-fuelled conversations about how India keeps showing up on everyone’s moodboards in colour palettes, in prints, in global inspiration, yet the origins behind it were rarely mentioned, turned into a plan and decision to stop ranting and attempt creating.

We’re two friends,  nine years in, now running a long-distance partnership across Australia and India.
One of us waking up when the other is calling it a day, both glued together by vision, culture, and way too many shared Google Docs.

With our backgrounds in branding and digital strategy, we knew how to build stories. With Sattva & Sage, we finally chose to build one that felt like ours.
Two friends, two continents, one idea:
To honour craft with respect, storytelling, and soul.
