A desert garden. On your sofa.

Baagh means garden in Hindi. And the Olive Baagh brings exactly that, a quiet, earthy botanical landscape handcrafted using Kalamkari, one of India's most ancient and celebrated block printing traditions. Natural azo-free dyes. Hand carved wooden blocks. 200 hours of artisan craftsmanship in every piece.

Warm olive. Deep brown. Dusty pink florals. Cream and beige backgrounds. A palette that feels like the Indian desert at golden hour, earthy, warm and quietly sophisticated.

The lumbar shape makes it as practical as it is beautiful, perfect for lower back support on a sofa or as a layering piece on a bed.

A natural companion to jute rugs, rattan furniture and linen upholstery.

Care: Cold hand wash only. Dry in shade to preserve the natural dyes. Do not wring or bleach.

Why it's special: Kalamkari is one of India's oldest textile traditions, dating back over 3000 years. The name literally means pen work, a craft where natural dyes and hand carved blocks create layered botanical narratives on fabric. Every impression is placed by hand with care and precision that no machine can replicate.

Handcrafted in India by Bloc A Main. Brought to Australia by Sattva & Sage.

Gentle hand wash or professional dry clean. Do not Bleach. Do not Shade. Warm Iron on Reverse Side Only.

Every item is made to order with care in small batches. Production, dispatch and shipping and delivery may take up to 3–4 weeks.

Kalamkari block printing combines the soul of Kalamkari art with the precision of hand-carved wooden blocks.
Instead of freehand drawing, artisans use intricately carved blocks to stamp traditional Kalamkari motifs onto fabric using natural or AZO-free dyes.
Each colour is printed with its own block, building the design layer by layer through careful alignment.
The fabric then undergoes sun-drying, washing, and sometimes natural dye baths to set the colours.
Slight irregularities in the print are signatures of true handcraft, the mark of human touch, not machines.
A timeless fusion of artistry and technique, preserving Kalamkari’s legacy in a contemporary form.
