Neela. The colour of deep water. The craft of ancient hills.

Named after the Sanskrit word for blue, Neela is handwoven by artisan clusters in Nagaland, Northeast India, a tradition carried through generations in one of India's most remote and culturally rich regions. Each piece takes 190 hours to complete by hand. Every geometric motif is a symbol of strength, unity and connection to the land it was made in.

Deep navy borders. Crisp ivory centre panels. Structured geometric patterns. Bold enough to anchor a room. Restrained enough to work with almost everything.

The Details:

- 100% natural cotton
- Traditional Naga weave, handwoven in Nagaland, India
- Navy border with ivory centre and geometric tribal motifs
- 190 hours of skilled artisan craftsmanship per piece

Why it's special: Naga weaving is one of India's most endangered craft traditions. 190 hours per piece. A level of dedication that no machine can replicate. Every Neela you own directly supports the preservation of this living heritage.

Naga weaving is one of India’s most powerful tribal textile traditions, practiced for centuries by the women of Nagaland.
Woven entirely by hand on backstrap looms, each textile grows slowly, inch by inch, guided by the rhythm of the artisan’s body and breath.
Bold geometric motifs, strong stripes, and symbolic patterns represent clan identity, bravery, prosperity, and ancestral stories.
Traditional colours, deep red, black, and white, are derived from natural dyes, reflecting the land and its rituals.
Depending on the motif and size, a single Naga textile can take a week to several weeks to complete.
The weave’s strength, structure, and character come from tightly packed cotton yarns and generations of perfected skill.
Every piece is a living archive of Naga heritage, crafted with pride, purpose, and a cultural memory that is still fiercely preserved today.
More than a textile, it’s a story of identity woven into form.
