Nandi Shirt, named after the sacred bull of Lord Shiva, the guardian of stillness and strength. Printed in hues of rose and indigo, this shirt feels like a prayer in motion. A piece for those who move gently, yet stand firm in who they are.

Material - cotton

Wash separately (especially the first few washes, due to the indigo dye). Hand wash and cool rinse. Drip dry in shade and steam/iron on the reverse side to preserve the fabric's texture, print quality, and sheen.

The shirt features Hand Block Printing.
The technique begins with hand-carved wooden blocks, etched with motifs inspired by nature, architecture, or geometry. These blocks are dipped into natural or AZO-free dyes and pressed onto the fabric with a steady, practiced rhythm.

This seemingly simple process is highly skilled, requiring years of training for precision and consistency. Regional styles are distinct, such as Bagru's resist printing or Sanganeri's delicate florals.

Traditionally, the craft relied on natural dyes and elaborate fabric preparation. While modern fabrics and palettes are now used, the essence remains: every motif is printed by hand.

Creating a single metre of intricate fabric can take hours. Completing a final piece often ranges from 8 to 25 hours, depending on the number of colors and blocks used, with drying time required between multiple layers. Block printing remains a vital art and livelihood for artisan families, where the human touch is visible in every slight variation, making each item unique.
