Handcrafted using traditional techniques. Hand wash in cold water with a mild, natural detergent. Wash colors separately and avoid soaking. Avoid machine washing as it may damage the delicate weave and artisanal finish.

This piece features handwoven Jamdani, one of India's most intricate and time-honored textile traditions, with roots tracing back to the royal courts of Bengal (parts of modern India and Bangladesh).

Jamdani is a form of supplementary weft technique woven entirely by hand on traditional looms. The motifs (designs, often floral or geometric) are not printed or embroidered after the fabric is made.

Instead, the designs are inserted directly into the weave using extra weft threads built into the fabric's structure. This highly skilled process is done manually by the weaver using fine bamboo sticks or needles.

This labor-intensive and meditative technique requires extreme focus, often taking days to weeks to complete just one meter of intricate fabric. The knowledge is passed down from master weaver to apprentice across generations. What you see in a Jamdani textile is pure patience and artistry—a woven piece that holds ancestral memory. The slight variations are authentic signs that the textile was created entirely by hand, not machine.
