Brand: Bloc a main

Type: Cushion Cover

Marigold has marked every Indian celebration for centuries, woven into garlands, scattered at doorways, worn as a sign that something good is happening. This cushion cover carries that same warmth into a textile that's becoming harder to find: Jahota, a mud-resist block printing technique from a small village outside Jaipur that most mainstream fashion has left behind.

Every motif is carved by hand into wood, pressed into cotton slub one layer at a time, then dyed using natural pigments and a traditional mud-resist method that locks colour into the weave rather than sitting on top of it. The result is a deep, earthy palette of olive and brown that doesn't shout, it grounds a room instead of dominating it. Each cover takes roughly 150 artisan hours to complete, and because it's hand-pressed rather than machine-printed, no two are identical. Slight shifts in the print are part of how you know it's real.

Designed for the kind of home that favours texture and restraint over noise, think Scandinavian-leaning interiors, warmed up with a piece that actually has a story behind it.

Fabric: Cotton Slub Technique: Hand block printing + mud-resist dyeing Dyes: Azo-free, natural pigments Craft time: 150 hours per piece Size: 18" x 18" Origin: Jahota village, near Jaipur, Rajasthan

Jahota printing comes from a small village near Jaipur, known for its bold, folk-inspired motifs and earthy colour palette.
Artisans hand-carve wooden blocks and print each layer by hand, often using natural dyes and mineral pigments.
The designs carry a rustic, rhythmic charm, floral vines, geometric borders, and patterns rooted in Rajasthan’s countryside.
Every metre is printed slowly, sun-dried, washed, and sometimes reprinted for depth.
The slight variations, overlaps, and softness of colour are the true markers of Jahota’s handmade character.
A craft that feels grounded, warm, and beautifully imperfect, just as tradition intended.
